Shadow Works: Full Moon in Virgo Personal Tarot

It’s the ‘best of times’ ‘worst of times’ dynamic happening now. Kids are finally tired of their screens and taking to parks, moving their bodies, learning about healthy foods they enjoy. Parents are getting to know them and each other all over again. We are collectively remembering our reasons why! These are chaotic times, the kind that teach us when the shit hits the fan, it’s better to be in a huddle with our most cherished than upright walking alone toward fleeting things.

As we set out to relearn health, security, family, what it truly means to nurture and heal, what it means to be interdependent, I’m drawn back to my Full Moon in Virgo tarot reading. As we set our intentions for the new moon and adjust to the sense of forced isolation in the interest of healing, let’s look back on what’s come up for reevaluation and restructuring the last 2 weeks.

Even our government seems to be recovering its original purpose. The themes that showed up for me at an individual level seem to be permeating all of our experiences as we experience such a turbulent shift from an outdated world order to a new more open-minded, forward focused, and progressive way of experiencing each other and the world around us.

The spread I used for this moon, was created by @awitchalone on Instagram and was originally intended for the Leo Full moon specifically, but the questions are so fitting for full moon themes in general that I’ve decided to use it more regularly in my personal readings.

“We are no longer compromising who we are for what we want.” – Amber Khan

It’s time to integrate your shadow! Define those traits and find outlet for the energies these behaviors represent. What are your guilty pleasures and harmful habits? What can you do to balance them? Lingering attachments, the need for control and any fear or resistance you’re experiencing at this moment need to be looked at directly, acknowledged, and then worked through.
What is it that you really want? It’s time to be honest with yourself and face your fear of communicating it to another? Intimacy is what you’ve been striving for all the while. You’ve spent your entire lifetime today seeking a safe space, if you feel you may be approaching the manifestation of such a dream, do the work. Your indecision re: major life cycles & connections and the inner conflict between thoughts and emotions is what’s really getting in your way, not other the objects of your affection. Know this. Vulnerability is required of you during this cycle. Will you take the risk, do the work, & say what’s on your heart? Chiron in Gemini is a reminder that your words hold healing power for you and for others, let your hurt over the unsaid inform your newfound courage. SPEAK! Who do you smile laugh, relax the most around? Are you spending time there? Is your creativity benefiting and fulfilling you and your loved onese? You community? If not it’s time to align words & actions with emotional needs & desires. Be honest and open about your attachments and intentions. Put down your fear and ploughing through the end of this cycle. Facing the fear of your own powerful voice is the last task before the struggle bus pulls in for the last time. Ase!
